"Christmas in Kherson" 2007
May Kiev trip: laptop for Lisa Gootee, laptop for Pat & Len Joy, laptop for school at Ark, sewing machine and sheet supplies for Lisa, numerous other supplies. Our mission workers need these updated computers to continue communication with us via Skype, Internet Messenger and email. They also upload pictures, develop newsletters and track finances.
It was a great Christmas. We hand delivered 240 brand new sheets to the children's hospital, took 21 kids and adults ice skating and various other projects. We bought a new matching set of dishes for the foster family (24 peice setting) so they would be able to entertain their many guests. We also bought them two new electric t-pots (theirs was in peices as they were trying to fix it), big wind up cars for the boys, hand made scarves and gloves for the girls, bags of candy much more. We donated $100 to a sweet pastor who built his own church in a village and has taken in a widow rejected by her family. There were many more God opportunities on this trip.

We shipped 240 brand new twin bed sheets to a children's hospital in Kherson, Ukraine. Thanks to West Lansing Church of Christ friends and John Emerson in Monroe, Michigan. Also a huge thanks to the Kidz church at West Lansing Church of Christ who, so far, have raised $800 and are still going strong! This money is being used for shipping and to buy many more sheets in coming months. One of our next goals with this money is to buy crib sheets for abandoned babies. Thanks also to Master Provisions for shipping these for us. We also sent five bags of mostly new kids clothes from a couple in Ohio and other donors. Master Provision also shipped these for us. Oh, and we sent handmade scarves and gloves...many of which were made by an 86 year old grandmother. Oh, one more...a generous donor sent hats and other winter gear. They had embossed crosses on every hat. Thanks everyone!

Kherson August 2006 On this trip we:
- Gave a young girls own Cabbage Patch doll collection to the girls in the foster home. The next day they put on a puppet show for us with the dolls.
- Gave money for medications and medical care. One of the street kids had a bad sinus problem and the funds were not available to help him.
- Gave about twenty street kids and foster kids a day at the beach. We provided a huge picnic lunch and lite supper. We provided the cost for public transportation, brought balloons, squirt guns, and balsa airplanes. It was a great day.
- Gave a small donation to a new friend who is planting a church in Odessa.
- Gave a donation to Pat & Len Joy in Kiev. They are from England and were just approved for foster care. They have just welcomed their first child. Also gave Len a harmonica...his was stolen.
- Gave clothing supplies and various other supplies to Dr. Haaz Foundation.

New Shipment On September 15, 2006 we are packing up about 500 lbs of clothes and other supplies to send to Kherson, Ukraine. We have received a huge shipment of hand knitted hats, gloves, scarves. One 86 year old sister knitted a pair of gloves a day for this project. We have also received about eight boxes of brand new Walmart clothes from our good friends in Ohio. They have been a supplier of these clothes faithfully for several years. We also are sending some of our sheets for the children's hospital. Master Provisions is graciously shipping these supplies for us again this year.
Last September, 2005 we shipped 1,200 pounds of hats, coats, gloves, and boots to Kherson, Ukraine. Our team then arrived for "Christmas in Kherson" and were able to distribute some of these to those in need. The remainder were left for Dr. Haaz Foundation to distribute throughout the winter. This was one of the coldest winters on record with many people dying from the frigid temperatures.
Dolls In 2006 we completed a project which netted $500 for Love's Bridge in Perm, Russia. Dolls were handmade by street girls in this city and offered on our website. All funds collected were given back to this ministry that has three day centers and other programs for streetkids.
